High school graduate or equivalent

Must have at least one of the following: * Completed a High Voltage Apprenticeship Program such as that offered by Jacksonville Electric Authority. * Verifiable work history while performing journey level work on High voltage generation and distribution systems of 12.47 kv and above for a minimum of two years.

Must be familiar and knowledgeable with various types of electrical test equipment in the performance of routine maintenance/repair of associate High Voltage transmission and distribution equipment.

Must be capable of performing safe Hot Glove work on all energized systems as required.

Must have knowledge of switches, transformers, and their hookups.

Will be required to work at various heights, including from a bucket truck.

Must be CPR certified.

Must possess the standard tools of the trade.

Must always have and wear, hard toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standard.

Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.

US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Strong Electrical and Mechanical aptitude required with extensive troubleshooting experience.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair mill wide electrical power systems, working with AC and DC voltages ranging from 12, 24 and 500 VDC to 120/240, 480, 2300, 4,160 to 13,800 and AC.

An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, solenoids, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls, and power transmission systems

Ability to install and set up both A/C and D/C drives.

Ability to install and troubleshoot basic 3-phase motor control circuits

Knowledge of the various types of flow, pressure, level, temperature sensors and transmitters.

Working knowledge of control valves

Various proximity, flow, pressure, and limit switches.

A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and instrumentation drawings

Must be fully computer literate with Microsoft environment

High School Diploma / GED is required

5+ years of Instrumentation and Electrical experience in a production maintenance environment or equivalent military experience is required.

Computer skills including MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software used in the department.

Strong electrical background with experience in 480-volt 3-Phase power distribution and Controls.

Basic understanding of Programable Logic Controllers and Distributed Control Systems.

Ability to read and understand Electrical and Instrumentation Drawings and PLC Ladder Logic.

Capable of meeting physical requirements to include working weekends/holidays, of working a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed, work around heat, noise, both inside and outside.

Experience with variable frequency drives and smart field instruments (i.e., pressure, flow, temperature, level and analytical transmitters, valve positioners, valve actuators and PID controllers) is necessary.

Candidates will be required to pass a background check, drug screen and job requirements assessment.

Journeyman or proof of completion of related college or apprenticeship program, preferred.
